Web design in Saskatoon, from the first Figma frame to the live site

I'm Elias Chapuis, a design engineer and product designer based in Saskatoon. I design and build websites, brands and product interfaces for startups, SaaS companies and local businesses that want a site that looks considered and actually does its job. One person handles the whole thing, from the first Figma frame to the live product.

For more than four years I've worked with SaaS, AI and e-commerce teams from Series A to pre-IPO, on projects like the Glanceable brand and website and the Kulipa rebrand. Most of that work is remote, but Saskatoon is home: if you're in town, we can sit down together for the kick-off and the key reviews.

Saskatoon web design for research, agtech and growing companies

Saskatoon has a business community that's easy to underestimate from the outside. The University of Saskatchewan and the Innovation Place research park bring a steady flow of research spin-offs and agtech companies, and mining and resource firms run serious operations from here. Many of these teams have products that are far more advanced than their websites.

That gap is where I'm useful. A technical company needs a site that explains a complex offer in plain language, earns trust with investors, partners and future hires, and stays easy to update when the product moves. I bring the same standards I apply to venture-backed SaaS clients, without you having to brief an agency in another city.

What a website project includes

Every project is scoped to what you actually need, and I'll tell you if something isn't worth paying for. If the brand needs work first, I can handle the identity before the site. Most projects include the following:

  • A short discovery phase: goals, audience, competitors and the pages that matter
  • Structure and messaging, so each page has one clear job
  • Visual design in Figma, built on components, variables and design tokens
  • Development in Webflow, Framer or custom code, depending on who will edit the site
  • On-page SEO foundations: clean markup, metadata, fast loading, accessible contrast
  • A handover session so your team can publish without calling me

How much does web design cost in Saskatoon?

It depends on scope, and I'd rather explain what drives the price than throw out a number that means nothing. The main factors are the number of unique page templates, whether the copy and images already exist, whether the brand needs to be created or refreshed, the integrations involved (CMS collections, forms, CRM, booking or e-commerce), and how much custom motion and interaction the site needs.

A focused site for a local service business and a multi-template SaaS site with its own design system are very different projects, and they are priced accordingly. After a free intro call, I send a fixed-price proposal with the scope, deliverables and timeline written out, so there are no hourly surprises along the way.

What you pay for is a senior designer who also builds, not account managers and internal handoffs. That usually means fewer revision rounds, because the person who listened to your goals is the one making every design and build decision.

Why work with an independent design engineer

With a typical agency, the person who sells the project, the person who designs it and the person who builds it are three different people. With me, they're the same person. Design decisions don't get lost in translation, details survive development, and you always know who to call.

Because I design and build, I can also take on more than marketing sites: web app interfaces, design systems and internal tools like Bidouille OS, the studio management tool I designed and built myself. You can see the full range of what I do on the services page, including Webflow development.

How a project runs

  1. 01

    Intro call or coffee

We talk through your goals, timeline and budget, by video or in person in Saskatoon. You get a fixed-price proposal afterwards.

  2. 02

    Structure and design

I map the pages and messaging, then design in Figma. You review real layouts, not mood boards, and comment directly on the file.

  3. 03

    Build

I build the site in Webflow, Framer or code, test it on real devices and check speed, accessibility and SEO foundations.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

We go live together, I walk your team through editing, and I stay available for the adjustments that come after launch.

Frequently asked questions

Can we meet in person in Saskatoon?

Yes. I'm based in Saskatoon, so a kick-off meeting or a design review at your office or over coffee is easy to arrange. Day-to-day work happens through video calls, shared Figma files and short async updates, which keeps things moving between meetings.

How much does a website cost in Saskatoon?

There's no single sticker price, because a five-page site for a local service business and a SaaS site with a full design system are different projects. The price depends on page templates, content, brand work and integrations. After an intro call I send a fixed quote, so you know the full cost before anything starts.

Do you only work with Saskatoon businesses?

No. I work remotely with teams across Canada and in France, often through design agencies like KLIMB. Being in Saskatoon simply means local clients also get the option of meeting face to face.

Which platform will my site be built on?

It depends on who will maintain it. Webflow suits marketing teams that publish often, Framer works well for smaller, animation-heavy sites, and custom code makes sense when the site needs to connect closely with a product. I'll recommend one during the intro call and explain why.

Can you redesign an existing website?

Yes. Redesigns are a large part of my work, including rebrands and platform moves such as Feedier's migration from WordPress to Webflow. I start by auditing what already works, so the switch protects your content and existing search traffic as much as possible.

Have a project in mind?

Tell me where you are and what you need. I reply within a day, usually with a few questions and a time to talk.
