About me
/HOW_IT_STARTED
I grew up in France and opened Photoshop for the first time at 14, making banners for YouTube channels. Then I got curious about everything around it: 3D, SEO, code, marketing. Some of it bored me, some of it didn't click, and every time I ended up coming back to design.
I studied digital marketing in France and worked as a marketing coordinator at Cummins France, before packing my bags for Canada and starting over. Looking back, none of those detours were wasted. They taught me how a product gets built, found and sold, not just how it looks. And I kept the accent, and the croissant standards.
/HOW_ITS_GOING
Today I'm a design engineer based in Saskatoon, Canada (yes, it's a real place). I work at KLIMB, a creative design agency for SaaS and Startup’s, and I’m freelance too. Along the way I've worked with teams like Payfit, Weglot, LumApps, Nabla, Reachdesk and more.
My work goes from brand identities to websites, design systems and product UI, and more and more often, to the code behind them. AI made building accessible to everyone. What's still rare is knowing what's worth building and making it feel right. So I design the product, and I build it.
/HOW_I_WORK
I think in systems. A good token, a clean component or a solid type scale saves a team more time than any single screen. I'd rather build something reusable once than redesign the same button ten times.
I also care about what happens after the mockup. Details get lost in handoff, so I try to be the handoff: I prototype early, test in real conditions, and keep polishing once it's live. Small teams, clear problems and fast feedback are where I do my best work.
/TOOLBOX
For design, I live in Figma: auto-layout, components, variables and tokens. For brand work, I still use Adobe Creative Suite, the tool that started it all.
For building, I work with Webflow, Framer, HTML and CSS, and I prototype in code with Claude, Cursor and Lovable. I also build small tools and AI agents that make design work a little less repetitive.
/CONTACT_ME
Got a product that needs designing, building, or both? I'm always happy to talk about new projects, full-time roles or just good interfaces.
Drop me a line at elias@bidouille.studio or find me on LinkedIn. I usually reply within a day, unless I'm out with my little boy.
