Web design for Toronto startups, fintech and SaaS companies

I'm Elias Chapuis, a design engineer and product designer working with Toronto startups and scale-ups. I design and build marketing websites, brand systems and product interfaces for SaaS, fintech and AI companies, from the first Figma frame to the live product.

I've worked with teams from Series A to pre-IPO, on projects like the rebrand of GetMint after a €4M round and the website and motion of Kulipa, a fintech infrastructure company. I'm based in Saskatoon and work with Toronto teams remotely, one or two hours behind you depending on the season.

Websites built for a competitive Toronto tech market

Toronto is Canada's largest tech and finance hub. It has a dense fintech scene, the head offices of major banks, and an AI research community anchored by the Vector Institute. That also means your buyers, investors and candidates see a lot of polished websites, and looking generic has a real cost.

The companies I work with need a site that holds up next to well-funded competitors: a sharp narrative, a brand that feels intentional and a build that marketing can update every week. That's the standard I design to, whatever the size of the project.

Design for SaaS and fintech websites

SaaS and fintech sites have specific jobs: explain the product in seconds, show it credibly, speak to several buyer types and convert to a demo or a sign-up. I build page structures around those jobs. More detail on the SaaS website design page.

  • Homepage narrative and positioning
  • Product, solution and use-case pages
  • Pricing, security and integration pages
  • A design system shared between the site and the product

When you've outgrown your first website

Many companies come to a redesign after a funding round or a shift in positioning. That was the case for GetMint, a Paris SaaS in Generative Engine Optimization, where the rebrand, design system and website (done with the agency LA RAMPE) had to reflect a company working with clients like L'Oréal, Accor and Lacoste. The work starts with what changed in the business, not with the visuals.

I build for growth: a CMS structure that scales, components your team can combine into new pages, and a Webflow or code setup chosen for how your marketing team actually works.

How a Toronto project works with a remote designer

There's no Toronto office and no account manager. You work directly with me through video calls, shared Figma files and async updates, with live reviews at each milestone. Because I'm only one or two hours behind Toronto, our working days overlap almost entirely.

Pricing is fixed after an intro call, based on the scope we agree on. If you want to see how I think before we talk, start with my work.

Frequently asked questions

Do you meet clients in Toronto?

Projects with Toronto teams run remotely: discovery and reviews by video, design in shared Figma files, progress in short async updates. I don't have a Toronto office. When an in-person kick-off would genuinely help, I can travel for it.

Do you have experience with fintech websites?

Yes. I worked on Kulipa's rebrand, website, isometric illustrations and motion, and on the identity and website for Arqon, a Paris startup building the financial engine behind real estate deals. Both needed to make complex financial infrastructure feel clear and trustworthy.

Will the time difference with Toronto be a problem?

No. Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time all year, so I'm one hour behind Toronto in winter and two in summer. Our working hours overlap for most of the day.

Can you work alongside our in-house team or agency?

Yes. I often plug into existing teams, whether that's a marketing lead who owns the content, developers who maintain the product, or an agency partner. I've worked with agencies like KLIMB and LA RAMPE, so shared files, clear handoffs and design tokens are part of how I work.

Do you take smaller projects?

Yes, if the scope is clear. A landing page for a launch or a focused redesign of key pages can be a good way to start working together before a larger project.

Have a project in mind?

Tell me where you are and what you need. I reply within a day, usually with a few questions and a time to talk.
